A week of birthdays and c-sections...

and it ain’t over yet! It all started Tuesday, with the birth, via c-section, of our first grandchild ~ Patience Elizabeth Mason ~ born 12/14/10 at 8:04 pm ~ 5lbs.12oz. & 19” long. Congratulations to our daughter Paige and her husband Ken! Mamaw Paula got to North Carolina just in time for the birth.

Meanwhile, back at the ranch with young, new Grandpa Jeff... Congratulations are in order, for “Sniffntells Wroyal Casper” and “Gb’s Princess Genevieve” on their new litter! They are the proud parents of five beautiful puppies. Unfortunately, Genevieve had some complications after she successfully delivered the first four pups here at home. I had to rush her to the vet for an emergency c-section to deliver two more. Sadly, one of those didn’t make it. Thank you, to Dr. Jones and his staff at Northside Animal Clinic - Genevieve and her pups are all doing well today!

As for the “and it ain’t over yet!” part... Boudro & Bristol’s litter is due any time now, along with Boudro & Image’s litter, which is due tomorrow on 12/18/10. Yes, Boudro has been a busy boy... and Grandpa Jeff is going to be busy birthin’ babies! Paula sure knows how to keep me from getting into any trouble while she’s out of town! Come to think of it, I’m just in trouble of another kind...

Anyway, here’s what Casper & Genevieve had. The time of birth, colors, sexes and weights are as follows:

10:06 a.m. - Chocolate & Cream - Female - 5.6 oz.
10:27 a.m. - Color To Be Determined - Male - 6.7 oz.
10:45 a.m. - Color To Be Determined - Female - 6.7 oz.
11:17 a.m. - Shaded Cream - Male - 6.7 oz.
4:00 p.m. - Color To Be Determined - Male - 7.4 oz.

Casper & Genevieve both have excellent pedigrees which you can easily view on the “Dachshund Hall of Pedigrees” page.
