Happy Memorial Day!

Memorial Day is yet another day to remember the brave American soldiers who sacrificed their lives for the USA, their homeland and its citizens. This three day weekend is a solemn occasion to commemorate their bravery.

It was a loooooong five dog night...

Congratulations to “Sniffntells Wroyal Casper” and “CLV Image of Talker” on their new litter. They are the proud parents of five beautiful, healthy and active puppies. This is Image’s first litter and she certainly made it one to remember. Needless to say, we were more than a little anxious after the tragic loss of Sunnie and her pups over the last week. Image started labor late afternoon and didn’t deliver the first puppy until 10:30 p.m. and the last one didn’t arrive until 5:09 a.m. - but they were all worth the wait.

Here’s what Casper & Image had. The time of birth, colors, sexes and weights are as follows:

10:30 p.m. - Black & Cream - Male - 7.1 oz.
12:55 a.m. - Chocolate - Female - 6.7 oz.
2:35 a.m. - Black & Cream - Male - 7.8 oz.
3:42 a.m. - Black & Cream - Female - 6.0 oz.
5:09 a.m. - (ee) Cream - Female - 6.3 oz.

Seis de Mayo...

or sixth of May, is the due date for “CLV Image of Talker” and “Sniffntells Wroyal Casper”. This is Image’s first litter and we hope all goes well for her and the pups.

It’s been a heartbreaking week here at Dachshund Hall. Some of you may know that Sunnie was due to have her first litter earlier this week on April 27th. Unfortunately, she had some serious pregnancy related complications that jeopardized her life and required an emergency C-section four days prior her due date. Sadly, the pups were too premature to survive and we lost all four. Sunnie pulled through but has had a very tough week and again took a turn for the worst this morning. As I write this, Sunnie is spending the night in the ICU at our vets office and her prognosis is encouraging. As much as we like to share all the cute puppy pictures and happy stories with you we felt inclined to share the down side of our passion too. Please keep Sunnie in your thoughts and prayers.

On a lighter note, we have found wonderful homes and families for all available puppies, with the last of Chelsea’s litter, “Charlie”, going to Ashley and Billy in Franklin, NC. This is the third Dachshund Hall doxie to go to their loving family... more proof that you can’t have just one!
